What's Happening in LLHOA - May 24, 2020

Updated: May 30, 2020

LLHOA updates as of May 24, 2020 on operation, maintenance & legal matters.

Operation

  • The Board raised a new flag of the United States on 5/23/2020 afternoon with the help of Calabasas Fire Station 125. Fire Station 125 provided a ladder truck and four fire men to help installed the cord on the flag pole and the flag. THANK YOU to Fire Station 125! Fire Station 125 5215 N. Las Virgenes Rd. Calabasas, CA

  • New banners have been posted at the club, a “NOW OPEN” sign by the front gate entrance to the club; and a larger one on the billboard at the intersection of Lake Lindero Dr. and Thousand Oaks Blvd., announcing Lake Lindero Country Club under New Management, and Golf Course and Driving Range open.

  • Driving Range ball machine is in the process of being restored to full function which enables it to dispense balls from tokens, cash, credit cards and range keys.

  • Three tennis pros have entered into short term contracts with LLHOA to teach single tennis lessons at the club beginning 5/25/2020, as prescribed by the county restrictions. At least one court will always be available for members starting 5/25/2020.

  • Since re-opening on 5/10/2020, business is increasing steadily on the Golf Course and the Driving Range. Lake Lindero Golf Course tee times are available for online booking on GOLFNOW.com. LLHOA members please help spread the word. As of 5/24/2020, there are only 25 golfer reviews on the Lake Lindero Country club on GOLFNOW.com, with a rating around 2.6 stars out of 5. According to the information on the GOLFNOW.com, the Golf Advisor rating index was created to provide a more accurate indication of a golf course’s current overall rating. Newer reviews are weighted heavier than older ones to provide a clearer picture of current conditions and service. The Lake Lindero Country Club re-opened on 5/10/2020 under new management. Any readers or HOA members who have golfed at the Lake Lindero Golf Course lately, please help LLHOA rebuild our country club’s reputation by writing an honest review on GOLFNOW.com. Thank you! Below is a screenshot from GOLFNOW.com regarding Lake Lindero Country Club.

  • The Board announced at the 5/20/2020 open Board meeting that for an additional $30 monthly fee per individual (not household), HOA members will have unlimited play on the golf course. The Board will re-examine the unlimited play fee for golf later this year.

  • Membership due payments have remained strong despite the pandemic. The Board thanks members for the continuing support and hope to see members at the club soon.

  • Due to the health restrictions, monthly HOA open Board meetings are being held online via video conference calls. The information of the meeting is posted at the club 4 days before the meeting. If you would like to be notified by email of the meetings, send your email address to Harriet Cohen at HarrietLCG@gmail.com for inclusion in the membership email list.

Maintenance

  • Volunteer members are looking into the reported gas leak at the club by pressurizing the gas lines and trace their path. Thank you, volunteers!

  • Golf course greens are being prepared for warmer summer weather with fungicide and top dressing. Patches of cool weather grass are beginning to die. You may see a few patches of brown spots on the fairways. These spots are being watered, fertilized and seeded, with the expectation warm weather grass will fill in these spots in time.

  • The fountain in the court yard at the club now works welcoming guests with soothing sound of trickling water. The filter had been flushed, system bled and tuned up. Saturday 5/23/2020 was the first day the fountain was turned on after a long down time.

  • Volunteers from novices to journeymen are needed to help with the many repairs of the clubhouse and grounds, including roofing, plumbing, landscaping, landscaping design, painting, planting, electrical, light construction, equipment examination and repairs, etc., to help rebuild LLHOA. If you are interested in helping, please email the maintenance committee at: LLHOAmaintenance@gmail.com. Together we can rebuild and restore pride in our country club and HOA.

Legal

  • Contempt proceedings were commenced against Christopher T. Barone for his failure to comply with the court orders to turn over LLHOA property in his possession by 5/11/2020.

  • GPL filed ex parte application seeking sanctions of $3896.59 against LLHOA alleging witnesses being instructed to destroy documents. The court denied GPL’s application on 5/19/2020.

Enjoy memorial day weekend!
