In 2019, Christopher T. Barone initiated defamation lawsuits on behalf of LLHOA and himself as co-plaintiff, against members Ms. Cohen and Feraday, in an effort to silence their opposing opinions against his management. (Case #20 and #21 on the 24 lawsuit list). You can read about these two defamation lawsuits in the blog post 3rd intimidation litigation against LLHOA members filed by Board President Umann & CEO Barone.
As one of its first actions, the new Board voted on and approved the withdrawal as co-plaintiff from these lawsuits. With this vote the Board terminated LLHOA's involvement in two defamation lawsuits against members sending the message that this Board will not use lawsuits as a tool to punish or intimidate members into silence.
