Based on the numerous lawsuits Board President Mike Umann and CEO Chris Barone filed against LLHOA members, it is apparent they are serial lawsuits filers. As of now, we have witnessed a legal intimidation trilogy against three members.
Umann & Barone's legal intimidation tactic
First lawsuit: They start with a TRO (Temporary Restraining Order) against members, either filed by LLHOA or by an individual. Second lawsuit: After the first lawsuit (TRO) is dismissed by court, they file another TRO by an individual or LLHOA. Third lawsuit: Having failed twice with TROs, they file another lawsuit by LLHOA and an individual for whatever unrelated claim they come up with. It can be in either small claim court or superior court.
In the series of lawsuits against member H. Cohen:
First lawsuit: TRO filed by LLHOA against Cohen, dismissed by court; (case #5 on the 22 lawsuit list)
Second lawsuit: TRO filed by Chris Barone, dismissed by court; (case #10 on the 22 lawsuit list)

First lawsuit: TRO filed by a female employee and LLHOA member, dismissed by court with prejudice;

Mike Umann and Chris Barone feel free to file one series after another series of lawsuits against HOA members in an attempt to silence and harass the members because the HOA, and not them, incurs the large legal bills. They squander our HOA's money, our dues, filing one lawsuit after another after another. The CEO even continues to get paid by the board while he is filing these lawsuits and sitting in court for days defending them.
It is time for us to put an end to the madness of legal intimidation and harassment!
