A totally uncalled-for lawsuit filed by CEO Chris Barone on behalf of LLHOA against Board member

Updated: May 30, 2020

CEO Chris Barone filed a totally uncalled-for and utterly absurd lawsuit on behalf of LLHOA and himself against Board member Hal Siegel for the laptop the Board provided him when he was elected a board member; he is still a board member using the laptop for LLHOA business. (Case #14 on the 22 lawsuits list)

In the court filing, Barone stated "Laptop was bought and paid for by the HOA and has denied several times by Mr. Siegel to return our property. We have proof of purchase."

Interesting enough, the Board has never asked Siegel for the return of the laptop. Mr. Barone, you have proof of purchase, that is not in question. The question is do you have proof that Mr. Siegel was asked to and "has denied several times to return our property"? A baseless accusation is easy to make, but it won't help you win the case in court!

It is ironic that Mr. Barone makes such a point of being the chairman of the LLHOA legal committee, and has stated without his guidance LLHOA will lose the pending lawsuits while he has won Zero of the 12 cases that have been heard and court order entered, a 0-12 record! If he were our attorney, we would fire him and ask for our money back. (View the list of 22 lawsuits here.)

This is but another glaring example of legal harassment and intimidation against LLHOA members by Barone and Umann.

Court trial date: 12/10/2019, will keep you posted.
